I am Dominic Majak Deng Adol a second-year postgraduate student from South Sudan pursuing a Master of Science in Embedded and Mobile Systems (EMoS) at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Arusha, Tanzania, through the Centre of Excellence for ICT in East Africa (CENIT@EA). Embedded Systems is my area of expertise. In June 2017, I graduated with honors from Manipal International University (MIU) in Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Worked as an Assistant Director in Electrical and Electronics at the University of Juba’s (UoJ) Directorate of Engineering and Construction Management and as a volunteer teaching assistant.
However, WISE-Futures offered me an internship opportunity in June 2021. This internship at WISE-Futures is a fantastic chance for me to gain confidence and establish a solid professional network by meeting people in and out of my field of expertise and obtaining expert advice. Being assigned to the Ngaramtoni water supply scheme provided me with an excellent chance to apply my academic knowledge to a real-world problem, as well as to utilize my newly acquired abilities in the workplace and use them to explore my career path and speciality of interest. More again, I am currently developing an “Intelligent Switching of Hybrid Power System for Optimization of Ngaramtoni Water Supply Scheme, Arusha”. And the aim of this internship is to broaden my analytical knowledge, get industrial experience, develop and refine skills, and so on, in order to tackle major global issues.
