Water and Sanitation Security & Water Resources Security theme hosts two research Groups
1. Water Resources Management and Governance (WaRMG)
Water Resources Management and Governance research group focus on the production and usage of water for social-economic development activities. It analyses ongoing practices and policies governing water resources. Currently, the WRMG group is part of the following projects;
VLIR – IUC/NM-AIST Project | Understanding eco-hydrological processes to develop participatory water allocation tools |
SAFI Project | Studying African Farmer-Led Irrigation Development |
T-GroUP Project | Experimenting with practical Transition Groundwater Management strategies for the Urban Poor in Sub-Saharan Africa. |
2. Water and Sanitation Management (WaSM)
Water and Sanitation Management research group focuses on the intersection of water and environmental sanitation by analyzing issues related to planning and monitoring of water services in relation to environmental sanitation. Currently, WaSM group is part of the following projects;

3. Solar and Wind Energy Harvesting (SoWiH)
Energy Security theme currently hosts one research Group, Solar and Wind Energy Harvesting (SoWiH). Solar and Wind Energy Harvesting (SoWiH) research group is in the development phase. WISE-Futures through its collaboration with partners expects to develop this research area to address; Solar and Wind Energy Systems Design and Efficiency Management.
