Biography
Ruth Moirana obtained her bachelor degree in Environmental Science at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), Tanzania. She then went to China for her Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering at Harbin Institute of Science and Technology (HIT) where she graduated with honors. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Material Science and Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Kelvin Mtei and Dr. Revocatus Machunda (NM-AIST). Her research interest is Remediation of Soils Contaminated with Fluoride along the Slopes of Mount Meru and is currently synthesizing an adsorbent material capable of locking-off bioavailable fluoride in soils to prevent its uptake by plants
