In collaboration with the Foundation for Civil Society (FCS), CSO Week 2023, themed ‘Tech and Society and Beyond,’ is being hosted by WISE-Futures at NM-AIST on 25th October 2023, while the event starts from October 23 to 27, 2023. The event seeks to delve into the dynamic relationship between civil society and technology, gathering civil society organizations (CSOs), policymakers, technologists, various stakeholders, academicians, the private sector, various government ministries & departments, and agencies on issues regarding national development.<\/p>\n

Keynote speaker in discussion regarding climate-smart technologies<\/p>\n

On October 25, 2023, WISE-Futures led 25 CSOs with 200 participants who attended the event at NM-AIST. The program aimed to educate attendees about Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) solutions, climate-smart technologies, and the role of technology in fostering youth entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n

Throughout the event, Professor Yusufu Abeid Chande Jande, Deputy Centre Leader at WISE-Futures, provided insights into the centre’s activities and its contributions to addressing water and sanitation challenges in various region such as Babati, Shinyanga, Arusha, Namanyere, Mafinga, Ifakara, Makete and Ludewa.<\/p>\n

  Prof. Yusufu Abeid Chande Jande briefed the participants about WISE-Futures activities.<\/p>\n

Participants were given the opportunity to tour the WISE-Futures Wastewater Treatment System, gaining insights into water collection, treatment, the production of nutrient-rich water for irrigation, and energy generation used in the centre’s canteen.<\/p>\n

WISE-Futures is looking forward to fostering new partnerships with various CSOs under the FSC in the fields of Water, Energy, and Sanitation. These collaborations promise to further expand our reach and increase the positive impact we can make in addressing critical issues in these vital sectors. By joining forces with these CSOs, we aim to amplify our collective efforts to ensure access to clean water, sustainable energy, and improved sanitation for all.<\/p>\n
