Thirteen participants are attending the training, three among them from the centre for Water Infrastructure and Sustainable Energy Futures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;\" align=\"justify\">Launching the training, NM-AIST Vice Chancellor Prof. Emmanuel Luoga said the society could not avoid the use of drone due to importance.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;\" align=\"justify\">Prof. Luoga added that, due to the growth of technological advances globally in recent years, the drone&#8217;s use has continued to increase and be used in military, agriculture, sports activities, documentary and research activities, &nbsp;so training staff is part of ensuring safety during its use.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;\" align=\"justify\">A representative of the South Africa Pro Wings, Mr Benjamin Mabela, said they have been offering such training across African and appreciated the Tanzania authorities&#8217; initiative.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;\" align=\"justify\">Despite its high cost of operations, drones have successfully been used in anti-poaching patrols by some community conservation projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;\" align=\"justify\">One of them is the Endumient Wildlife Management area straddling Longido and Siha districts&#8217; borders in the Arusha and Kilimanjaro regions.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5715\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wisefutures.ac.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/T-3-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wisefutures.ac.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/T-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.wisefutures.ac.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/T-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.wisefutures.ac.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/T-3-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.wisefutures.ac.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/T-3-272x182.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;\" align=\"justify\">Vice-Chancellor of the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), Prof. Emmanuel Luoga launching a drone training course at NM-AIST Arusha,(left side) South African Pro Wings Trainer Benjamin Mabeta.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Civil Aviation College (CATC) from Tanzania, in collaboration with Pro Wings College of South Africa, has started a four-week pilot training course at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) Arusha.
