Biograph
Bethwel is pursuing a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the school of Materials, Energy, Water and Environmental Sciences (MEWES). His study is on the use of carbon nanofibers in water desalination through capacitive deionization. He did his bachelor’s studies at Moi University, Kenya, and obtained his master’s degree from Alexandria University, Egypt. Bethwel has worked as a part-time lecturer at Moi University and as a quality engineer at Tarpo Industries Ltd., Kenya. He is registered as a graduate engineer at the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
Bethwel’s research interests are in nanofiber technology, bio-composite materials, green textiles, and wearable technology.
